CERTIFIED TRANSLATION OF A BRITISH MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE INTO CZECH
I can provide a certified translation of a British marriage certificate into Czech for the Czech Embassy in London and the Consulate General in Manchester. Whether you are registering your marriage with the Embassy, applying for a change of name, Czech citizenship or a Czech passport, or just need some advice, I can help.
Marriage Certificate Translation for the Embassy
As a UK-accredited translator, I can supply translations of British marriage certificates for the Czech Embassy in London and the Consulate General in Manchester. Simply send me photos of the legalised marriage certificate via one of the methods on the Contact page and we can begin the process.
Translation Advice and Help
I know that dealing with the Czech Embassy may seem daunting. Relax! I have been translating documents such as British marriage certificates for the Czech Embassy since 2011 and have come across many scenarios. If you are not sure what exactly you need to provide, I can help. You will soon be making an appointment with the Embassy 🙂
There is no need to post your original marriage certificate to me - photos or scans sent by email, WhatsApp or Messenger are sufficient. Simply make sure you take the original marriage certificate and the original of the translation to your appointment at the Embassy. This will save you not only valuable time but also money on postage. Plus you won't have to worry about your original documents getting lost on the way.
THE PROCESS EXPLAINED
1. Marriage certificate
Gather your British marriage certificate. If you cannot find it, you can order extra copies online on the General Register Office website here.
2. Apostille
Get the marriage certificate legalised with an apostille at the Legalisation Office. This step cannot be skipped. Scroll down to see how to obtain an apostille.
3. Translation
When you have had the marriage certificate legalised with an apostille, send me photos of all the pages for translation for the purposes of the Embassy.
4. Embassy
Contact the Czech Embassy in London or Consulate General in Manchester for an appointment. You will find the contact details for both London and Manchester lower down on this page.
LEGALISATION AND APOSTILLE
Before the marriage certificate can be translated into Czech, it must be legalised with an apostille. You can order an apostille yourself via the Legalisation Office website (link below) – this is the quickest and cheapest option for you. Alternatively, I can order the apostille for you. The following scenario assumes you will also want me to translate the document after it has been legalised.
If you order the apostille yourself
- you fill out the online form on the Legalisation Office website
- pay the required fee
- post your marriage certificate to the Legalisation Office
- they will legalise it with an apostille and post it back to you
- you email/WhatsApp me photos of the marriage certificate and apostille
- I translate the marriage certificate and apostille and post the translation to you
The whole process usually takes 10-14 days, but can take longer, depending on how busy the Legalisation Office is.
